IIT Delhi student duped in ‘digital arrest’ scam; mastermind linked to Chinese fraudsters held
Police arrested a 29-year-old man for a scam targeting an IIT Delhi student. The scammers, collaborating with Chinese fraudsters, impersonated police officers and extorted Rs four lakh. Investigation led to tracing multiple suspects. The accused was finally arrested in Chennai, and involved in cryptocurrency exchange with a Chinese contact.
