Parliament watch: FTA exports rise, PLI payouts grow

India's merchandise exports to its free trade agreement (FTA) partner countries rose 25% year-on-year to $43.14 billion in the April-June quarter of FY27, increasing their share in the country's total exports to 33.4%. Separately, the government said it has disbursed ₹35,354 crore under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes till March 31, 2026, with the programme driving over ₹2.4 lakh crore in investments, ₹22.66 lakh crore in production and sales, ₹15.2 lakh crore in exports, and generating more than 14.15 lakh jobs across 14 sectors.
