Andhra Pradesh: Tribal JAC calls 48-hour 'Manyam Bandh' against 1/70 Act amendment
The joint action committee (JAC) of various tribal organizations and political parties has called for a 48-hour bandh on February 11 and 12 in tribal areas of Andhra Pradesh. This protest is against Assembly Speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu’s remarks on amending the 1/70 Act to attract private investments in tourism, which JAC claims will harm tribal livelihoods and rights.
