Women, youth in focus as Bengal govt expands cash aid ahead of Assembly polls
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the immediate disbursal of increased financial aid under the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme. The state government is also launching the Yuba Sathi scheme. This initiative will provide Rs 1,500 monthly to unemployed youth for five years. Landless farm laborers will receive Rs 2,000 twice annually.
