Suresh Kalmadi, long-time IOA chief and face of CWG 2010, dies at 81
Veteran sports administrator and former IOA president Suresh Kalmadi passed away at the age of 81. Kalmadi, who also served as a Union minister and represented Pune in Lok Sabha, was a significant figure in Indian sports for over two decades. His tenure saw India achieve its first individual Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Games.
