NHRC suo moto takes up 6 migrant workers case
The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of six Odia migrant workers stranded in Thailand, allegedly cheated by a plywood firm and subjected to torture. The NHRC has sought a report from the Ministry of External Affairs on assistance provided to the victims and their families. Four workers have since returned home.
