New NCERT textbooks to roll out in phases, schools prepare for shift under NEP
NCERT has set a phased plan to introduce new textbooks aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023. Books for Classes 1 to 8 are already in use, while Class 9 will follow in 2026–27. Classes 10 and 11 will continue with existing material for now. Teachers have been asked to address learning gaps to ensure smooth adoption.
