Maharashtra council polls: Congress suspends two candidates for withdrawing nominations

The Maharashtra Congress has suspended two candidates for withdrawing their nominations for the Legislative Council elections. Shailesh Agrawal and Sahebrao Kamble were suspended for misleading the party leadership. Their primary memberships have been cancelled. The ruling Mahayuti alliance is set to win five seats unopposed as opposition candidates withdrew. Council polls are scheduled for June 18.
