Karnataka records 2.86 lakh dog bites, 26 rabies deaths this year, report reveals
Karnataka has reported 2.86 lakh dog bite cases and 26 suspected rabies deaths between January and August 2025. Between August 4 and 10, 5,652 dog bite cases were recorded, as per State Surveillance Unit’s infectious disease report. This comes as the Supreme Court ordered strict action to curb the stray dog menace in Delhi-NCR.
