Himachal achieves 99.3% literacy, becomes fourth fully literate state

Himachal Pradesh has achieved a 99.3 percent literacy rate, becoming India’s fourth fully literate state after Mizoram, Tripura, and Goa. Marking International Literacy Day, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the state’s journey from just 7 percent literacy at Independence to near-universal education under the ULLAS programme.
