Ethiopian runner Yebrgual Melese tragically dies at 36 just days before major Ottawa Marathon appearance in Canada
Ethiopian marathon runner Yebrgual Melese has died aged 36 after suffering a sudden medical emergency while training in Addis Ababa. Melese was preparing for the Ottawa Marathon later this month. She won major races in Houston, Prague, and Shanghai and finished second at the 2015 Boston Marathon. Her personal best of 2:19:33 came at the 2018 Dubai Marathon.
