CWG 2026: Glasgow show puts Asian Games qualification setback in shade
The road to Glasgow wasn’t smooth. Ankle and knee sprains disrupted preparations while the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) asked him to return from his overseas base to compete at the InterState championships and prove his fitness. On his return, although he fell short of the upcoming Asian Games qualifying mark, Gulveer and coach Scott Simmons persisted with their programme at Colorado Springs, gradually rebuilding fitness and improving his timings. The dip in form in the lead up to the CWG caused concern, but Gulveer trained hard for the event.
