Barefoot trek on a raw road to education

The lack of road connectivity forces children of Kidagari, an interior tribal village in Andhra Pradesh, to trek across thick forests infested with poisonous snakes for 3 km every day to reach their school. While this danger does not seem to dwindle the children’s resolve to pursue education, the physical strain and sheer number of hours wasted in the journey to and from the school every day, affects their performance in academics, say teachers. Setting up a school in the village is the preferred solution.
