Astronomers discover new galaxy forming in space’s longest ‘tail’

Astronomers, including those from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), discovered a new galaxy in the Leo constellation, forming at the end of the longest tidal tail observed in space, approximately 1.27 million light-years. This discovery offers unprecedented insights into the formation of ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs).
