M Vignesh, an animal welfare activist, found a threatening machete with a 'WARNING' note on his organisation’s signboard. Despite previous attacks and receiving threats from suspected illegal cattle traffickers, no FIR has been filed. The Madras High Court has provided him police protection after numerous rescue operations.
