Amarnath Yatra begins, first batch sets off from base camps amid tight security
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of 5,892 pilgrims from Jammu on Wednesday. The yatra is proceeding via two routes:the traditional 48-km route from Pahalgam and the shorter 14-km Baltal trek amid tight security arrangements.
