Aadhaar biometric e-KYC now extended to RD, PPF accounts: Depositors can open accounts, withdraw without forms; Account closures and nominee changes coming soon
The Department of Posts has expanded Aadhaar-based biometric e-KYC services to include Recurring Deposit (RD) and Public Provident Fund (PPF) schemes, effective June 27, 2025. This allows for paperless account opening, deposits, loan processing, and withdrawals at CBS post offices. To enhance data security, Aadhaar numbers will be masked on all documents, streamlining the banking process, especially in rural areas.
