Mumbai Indians retired out Tilak Varma during their IPL-2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants due to a finger injury which hampered his ability to hit powerfully. Coach Mahela Jayawardene deemed the tactical decision necessary, but MI eventually fell short of their 204-run chase.
