TVK’s MV Karuppaiah sworn in as pro-tem Speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly
MV Karuppaiah, a TVK legislator, took oath as pro-tem Speaker on Sunday. The ceremony took place at Lok Bhavan, administered by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. Chief Minister Joseph C Vijay was present. Karuppaiah previously served as an AIADMK MLA. Newly elected MLAs will take their oath on Monday. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker elections are scheduled for May 12.
