Train fares hiked: 1 paisa/km beyond 215 km for ordinary class, 2 paise/km for other classes from Dec 26
The Railway Ministry has announced a revision in train fares, with ordinary class passengers traveling over 215 km facing a 1 paise per kilometer increase. Non-AC mail/express and all AC passengers will see a 2 paise per kilometer hike. This move is projected to generate Rs 600 crore by March 2026.
