Thailand’s supreme administrative court has abolished a 1975 education ministry regulation controlling students' hairstyles, deeming it unconstitutional and outdated. The decision, welcomed by students petitioning since 2020, allows greater freedom in personal expression. Schools will now decide hairstyle rules individually, some involving parents in the decision-making process.
