Surat businessmen arrested for evading Rs 5.6 crore customs duty
Two Surat-based businessmen, Sachin and Pratik Kundaliya, were arrested by the Directorate Revenue of Intelligence for evading Rs 5.6 crore in customs duties by undervaluing walnut imports. They used UAE firms to manipulate invoices and paid through hawala channels. Further investigation revealed additional past evasion amounting to Rs 20 crores.
