School dropout rates down across UP: Report
UP School Dropout Rates: The dropout rate fell from 16% in 2022-23 to 3.9% in 2023-24 in middle school (class 6-8), and to 5.9% from 12.7% in 2022-23 at the secondary stage (class 9-12). The national dropout rate remains 5.2% and 10.9% in middle and secondary schools, respectively. The report shows fewer dropouts at the preparatory stage (class 3-5) too, from 20.2% in 2022-23 to 5.4% in 2023-24.
