NEP does not address inequalities in higher education: Prof Thorat
At the People’s Parliament in Bengaluru, educationists criticised NEP 2020 for failing to address inequalities in higher education. Prof. Sukhdeo Thorat highlighted social and income disparities, privatisation, and risks to secular, scientific learning under the Indian Knowledge System. Jawahar Sircar warned against centralisation through the proposed Vikasit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill. AISEC presented People’s Policy on Education 2026, advocating publicly funded, inclusive, equitable and secular education as an alternative roadmap for India’s future education system.
