Mangaluru: Shortage of powermen affects maintenance in Mescom says Chairman Harish Kumar
Mescom Chairman Harish Kumar highlighted a critical shortage of 4,028 staff, including 2,683 powermen, severely affecting maintenance work. He proposed district-level recruitment to attract local youth. Kumar also noted that Gram Panchayats owe Rs 500-600 crore in unpaid bills, while assuring measures to improve power supply and rectify transformer failures promptly.
