Maharashtra reports 2.3 lakh TB cases in 2024
Maharashtra reported a slight increase in tuberculosis cases in 2024 with 2.3 lakh cases, up from 2.2 lakh in 2023. Over 10,000 cases were drug-resistant, significantly higher than the national average. A 100-day campaign has been launched in 17 rural districts and 13 municipal corporations to accelerate case detection and reduce transmission.
