Kerala Education Minister confirms NEP allows states full authority to publish school textbooks independently
Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty clarified that under the NEP, states have the authority to publish school textbooks, ensuring no conflict with the PM SHRI scheme. The minister emphasised that implementing the NEP is not mandatory and the state retains full autonomy over its educational policies. He dismissed BJP leader claims about RSS content in textbooks and highlighted that the government prioritises central funding for 47 lakh students from marginalised communities, safeguarding Kerala’s long-standing education policy.
