India's first vertical sea-bridge, the new Pamban Bridge, is set to be inaugurated by March 2025, enabling faster rail traffic to Rameswaram at speeds of up to 75 kmph. Built at Rs 535 crore, it features advanced electro-mechanical lifting systems, which will improve navigation for shipping vessels and support future double line electrification.
