India’s edible oil imports fell by 8% to 8.85 lakh tonnes in February 2025 compared to last year. Despite a 4% rise in total vegetable oil imports over the first four months of the oil year, high stock levels cushioned the decline. Lower stock levels could lead to increased purchases, especially of palm oil, in the near future.
