Electricity in Delhi likely to get costlier

Electricity prices in Delhi are set to rise as the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity ordered the DERC to liquidate over Rs 38,500 crore in regulatory assets. This accumulated debt, stemming from unrecovered costs since 2007 due to unchanged tariffs, will be recovered from consumers over seven years through a surcharge.
