Congress sees high share of Muslim winners across states, poll data shows
Congress saw a significant number of Muslim candidates win in recent assembly elections across Assam, Kerala, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu. In Assam, 18 out of 19 Congress MLAs are Muslim. Kerala's UDF alliance has 30 Muslim MLAs, with eight from Congress. West Bengal saw both Congress winners being Muslim. Tamil Nadu had one Muslim MLA win for Congress.
