BMC set to auction 19 tonne of e-waste

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation is auctioning 19 tonnes of e-waste, including 9 tonnes of old electric wires, to manage accumulated hazardous materials. A Central Pollution Control Board-empanelled private party will process the waste, aiming for scientific recycling to recover up to 90% of metals. Special Saturday collection drives since 2023 have seen increased public participation in depositing e-waste.
