Big passport rule change: Birth certificates now mandatory for new applicants
The central government has revised passport rules, requiring birth certificates as the sole proof of date of birth for those born after October 1, 2023. New regulations eliminate the residential address and parents' names from the passport's last page. A colour-coding system is introduced for different categories of individuals. The number of Passport Seva Kendras will also be expanded.
